complete and utter boredom

another friday morning, struggling to get some work done and cannot get around to actually doing it, although i have been trying for an hour or so to concentrate and convince myself to start.

i am only 10 pages away from completion and as any person near the end i am stalling. what is it with us people? struggling to get something done and when we 're nearly there, tasting the sweet taste of achievement, we stop mid-sentence and decide to check our e-mails, check out that new clip on youtube, go on facebook, google something utterly unnecessary and of course write in our blogs rather than writing in our designated word document to finish our godforsaken task!

i think this fact falls under the category of masochism! you want to finish your task, you do, but near the end you stop and say "let me stress myself a little longer". you go on facebook to plant strawberries in your farm all the while thinking: my word document is open, plant faster you freaking farmer i have work to do! as if it's the fake farmer's fault that you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing and instead you are planting fake strawberries in cyber space waiting to harvest them so you can get imaginary money to spend buying more imaginary strawberries.

Procrastination: mother of ingenuity and last minute inspiration.
